Everyone is glad to see the nice summer weather and finally our ability to get out and enjoy the outdoors. The Board wants to remind our residents of a few things that keep our area looking nice and everyone safe.

Pond: The common area around the pond is available for the enjoyment of our residents. However, it is not safe for children to play in the pond. The pond is treated with chemicals to keep algae and other plant growth down. There may be “critters” such as muskrats, snapping turtles, snakes etc. There is also equipment in the pond that runs the aerators and fountain that could be damaged by children playing in the water. Flooding does sometimes occur during heavy rains that could also be dangerous to children. We ask that parents discuss these issues with their children who might be going up to the pond area to play. Please observe the “No Swimming” sign.

Home improvement projects: Remember that any improvements or remodeling to the exterior of the residence requires prior review by the Architectural Review Board.

Lawn maintenance: It has definitely been difficult to keep the yards cut with all this rain, but please keep the lawns mowed as much as possible. Grass clippings should not be left on the curb or in the street. It is unsightly, dangerous to cyclists, and in some areas adds to the silt in our pond.

Boats, recreational vehicles, and trailers: No boats, recreational vehicles, and trailers shall be regularly parked on the lot, on a driveway, or in the street and in any event not more than 12 hours at any one time. The Board realizes there are occasions when a resident may want to clean up a boat or a recreational vehicle for summer use. If it is going to be parked on the lot for more than a day or two, please contact a Board member to advise us of your plans.

Garage Sale: The neighborhood garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 10th.
